John Wesselius is representing the Christian Heritage Party as a candidate in the Northumberland-Clarke riding in the 2025 federal election.

John has been married to Trudy for 42 years; they have three adult children and seven grand-children. Having lived in the Bowmanville area most of his life. for the past seven years, he has lived in Cobourg.

John has spent over thirty-five years in sales; he understands the need to be part of a strong organization committed to a high standard of service and integrity.

John has been a staunch conservative most of his life but found in the current parties represented in Parliament the lack of a strong alternative that would speak to his values Life, Family, and Freedom.

John decided to put himself forward as a candidate for CHP Canada. He believes it is critical for Canada to return to our Christian Heritage and the godly principles that this proud Dominion was founded on!

My Top Issues

Abortion

The dictionary definition of abortion is, “Induced termination of a pregnancy with the destruction of the embryo or fetus.”
In other words, every abortion ends in the death of a living human being.
Canada can not continue to kill 100,000 human beings, created in the image of Almighty God, and hope to prosper.
A CHP government’s first priority would be to pass laws to protect the lives of our most innocent citizens.

Traditional Marriage

We need to fight to protect our families.
Adults need to put their selfish attitudes aside and focus on what is best for our children.
If we continue to tear away at the integrity our families, thoughtlessly deciding that any arrangement will work, and the kids will be fine, we are fooling ourselves, and destroying the most important building block of our society.
We know that children flourish best when they are raised in a home with their biological father and mother.
When adults selfishly enter into same-sex marriages, then wanting to add children into their sterile relationship, employing surrogates, IVF, or adoption, they will be depriving children raised in their home of either and father or mother; decisions that hurt those children.
Canada needs a law to protect traditional marriage!

HOUSING

Can you even imagine how much money $1.2 Trillion is?
Think: 1 trillion dollars is a million millions!
Can you imagine paying $125,000.00 every day just to cover the interest payments on that debt?
That is in fact exactly the situation Canadians find ourselves in.
We must quit spending money we don’t have; selfishly pushing this burden onto the shoulders of our great grand children.
A CHP government would pay down the debt, and pass mandatory balanced budgets; no deficit spending!
Eliminate Income Taxes:
Our government has been penalizing Canadians for working hard far too long!
A CHP government would get rid of the Federal Income Tax, and replace it with a Fair Tax, also known as a National Sales Tax on new goods and services.
Canadians would never have to declare their income to the government, and be able to keep more of their own money.
Canadians could control how much tax they pay by controlling their spending.

Carbon Tax

CO2 is not pollution; it is plant food!
The Carbon Tax is a virtue-signalling tax grab!
The Carbon Tax has raised the price of everything.
The Liberals have not eliminated the Consumer’s Carbon Tax, they only reduced the rate to 0. That rate could be raised at any moment.
A CHP government would get rid of all Federal Carbon Taxes!
